Back to SUN in the City

We're pairing up with Paviljoen aan het Water: come and join us Saturday 24th of September. We bring the Circle and a lot of energy in our SUNday program with us.

Paviljoen aan het Water is a meeting place on the quay of the Maashaven in Charlois. On the occasion of the biennale we're teaming up with them!

Come and join us from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, September 24. We bring a lot of energy to our SUNday program. Say hello to the sun with Sun Salutes, enjoy sunny performances by hoolahoop performer Silke and singer Neila Moon, a Solar Talk by Boudewijn Buitenhek and, yes!, we provide Solar First Aid in collaboration with Zon op Zuid and scrapXL. Children get started with a fun workshop while our energy coaches amaze the parents with new ideas. We're here to help you on your way with whatever solar question you may have. After the workshop a dinner will take place.

  • About Paviljoen aan het Water

The pavilion offers a stage for initiatives from the neighborhood in the field of food, music, film and art. The many talents from Rotterdam South are shown here. In the summer, the pavilion functions as a pop-up restaurant offering tasty and affordable food from the neighborhood and a cultural program. In winter, the pavilion is a production space for international artists in residence.

  • About SUNdays

SUNdays is part of our Rotterdam public program: Sun in the City ánd it's not necessarily happening on a Sunday. Instead on specific dates where we wish to celebrate the sun. SUNdays is created with inspiring Rotterdam-based makers and organizations such as YG Studios Melle Smets, (museum)ParX, Energie van Rotterdam and Zonnestad. SUNdays is happening in Rotterdam, in every part: North, South, West and East!

We always welcome the sun, wherever we are, with the sun salutation. The sun salutation given by YG Studios gives a first warm-up and prepares you for the program the Sun in the City.

We present artistic interventions by Rotterdam-based creatives in which the power of the sun is central; singer Neila Moon, dancer Mark S and hoolahoop performer Silke will experiment with the sun in a residency program. We will be showing the results of this quest at the ZONdagen. We are making this part of the program together with (museum)ParX, Tim Wes and André Marques.
